It Takes a Village

Volunteers will be cooking and serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for our Kid’s Connection students in our charming Kids Cafe.  The meal will include turkey, dressing, corn, peas, pumpkin bars and much more.  We would like to thank the American Culinary Federation of Chefs for organizing donors, preparing and cooking the meal.  An additional thanks to General Mills, Sysco Foods North Dakota, Cargill, Jeff Lebau, Grandview Lodge and all the volunteers for donating all that was needed to create a home-style turkey meal with all the fixings.
This will be the sixth year that our American Culinary Federation of Chefs – Minneapolis has worked to produce this fun and memorable evening for our students and their parents.  Over 160 family members will be served tonight through the Perspectives Family Center building.
When each family leaves they will be presented with a Thanksgiving Dinner bag for home compliments of Cargill.  These bags of food will include everything a family needs to make their own Thanksgiving dinner next Thursday, down to a gift certificate for a 15lb Honeysuckle turkey!
They say is takes a village and we must agree!
