As a foodie and Director of Volunteers at Perspectives, I have the opportunity to work with so many wonderful and brilliant guest chefs. These individuals generously donate their time, talents (and often the meal itself) to help support our work with at-risk youth in our Kids Cafe. At least once every couple weeks you will find a chef from some incredible restaurant within the Twin Cities teaching our young people about nutritious cooking, kitchen skills and healthy living. These are lifelong lessons that have a huge impact on not only the children but also their parents!
One of the many wonderful chefs that volunteers at Perspectives Kids Cafe each year is the “Curry Diva” herself Heather Jansz. Heather is a former restaurant chef at The Curry House in Uptown and the Curry Leaf Deli on Grand Avenue in St. Paul. She is one of the most sought-after chefs in the metro Twin Cities area. She is an incredible person who has delighted my palate many, many times with her creative curry dishes.
Heather will be at “3 Squares Restaurant” in Maple Grove from August 15th until September 26th
She will also be back this fall at the Kids Cafe creating unforgettable Sri Lankan, Indonesian, and Ayurvedic foods for our kids! When you go to 3 Squares make sure you tell her Laura sent you from Kids Cafe!
Thanks Heather for your continual support of our work here at Perspectives!
